XP can't read my cd-rw after format

I just re installed xp onmy comp after formatting my hard drive. i have installed all my drivers and i just started to load my backed up files on to my drive but...my 2 rom's are able to find what's on the cd, but when i go to copy a file or open a file my whole computer freezes... what can i do? whats wrong?

Have you updated the cd drivers to be used by the XP Default Burning Program(Very Limited Feautures)? Are you using another CD Burning Software Program(Nero/Roxio)that came with your CDRW? If you you are using NERO, go to the Nero Site and get VERSION 5.8. The Roxio Site also has updates for XP.
