XP can't find USB Mass Storage Drvr

I've been losing sleep over not being able to use my MP3 player (an Archos JukeboxStudio10) on XP: it cannot find the the USB Mass Storage Device driver that worked fine on Windows ME system -- it just won't apply the driver to this and tries to look for a USB Storage Adapter. Again, works fine on Windows ME, but can not find the USB Mass Storage Device driver in XP. Does not look like anyone has been able to find the solution based on previous posts. Any ideas?

This package includes all of the USB drivers for the various Archos products. Download and unzip this file. Upon unziping, you will have a folder of drivers. You do not have to select which drivers are for which products since the newly installed device will ask Windows to obtain the correct one. When asked for the driver, just tell windows to look in this folder. For Windows Win98SE, WinME, Win2K and WinXP.

Have you tried installing the software before you plug in the USB MP3 Player.
Sometimes XP miss-identifies the USB device and tries to find the software which won't exist. If the Software is installed it usually finds it.
