Subject: XP Boot up problems |
Comment: I've had xp for a couple months now and its the s---tiest os ever made. I've had nothing but problems with it. The latest was today when for no reason my computer just shut itself off and tried to reboot itself, only to ret to the xp start up screen and then reboot itself again. It continues in the loop and doesn't start. I won't even open in safe mode. It will reboot itself in that to. If anybody knows what the hells going on with my machine i'd apreciate any help.

Reply: (edit)I have XP and this has happened to me - right in the middle of a program, but never shuts down and reboots from just being idle. I have found out it is due to a program or software I am using, XP won't like it and shuts me down and reboots. Try some maintenance on your computer, chkdisk, defrag (use VOPT) and try Diskeeper. Also, you need to see what you were doing or what program you were in when it shut down. Good Luck!

Reply: (edit)Try booting with your xp disk to recovery mode. Then type in FIXBOOT,after that type in FIXMBR. It has worked for me.

Reply: (edit)I had the same problem, got some information and mates tegether to help me, I found that I was overheating my system, and/or running too much power through the mains, I changed my power, IE. limiting the number of plugs plugged into the multi-socket and changed my casing. I don't know if this helps, but this is what I found worked :)
