XP Boot Issue

Calling all experts. Need assistance with the following problem.
System was running perfect then all of a sudden when I restarted my system it will not allow me to boot to normal mode. I have a dual boot system with a Raptor hard drive and a regular hard drive. The Raptor would allow me to boot to Safe Mode initially but now I can no longer do that either. My secondary hard drive will allow me to boot to Safe Mode only.
Tried all the system restores and debugging to no avail. I also tried using the cdrom to do a system repair but the system shuts down at the beginning (checking system configuration). I'm not sure what actually happened to make this problem occur but the last thing I remember was doing a AOL Spyware scan and it found 2 files that were removed. After that, total chaos. Any suggestions.

I would try removing the hard drives one at a time and see which one will or will not boot. Trouble shoot from there.
Please post back within 24 hours or I will delete the post from my follow up list. Thanks. It would be a courtesy if you would post back and let us know if the fix worked or not.

Thanks for the assistance. Turned out to be a bad DVDRW. Should have check on that in the first place because it was giving me trouble. Again, thanks
