Insert a floppy and open my computer. Right click on the A: drive and select format and put a check in the box that says something like create a ms-dos boot disk. You can also use a Win98 bootdisk
Sandman

why bother when the CD is bootable. but to answer your question, yes, you can and there are in fact 6

Do a search on the ms site, they explain how to make your own win xp ntfs boot disk, there are only three files on it

It Takes about ten minutes to make an XP boot disk-
1. Format a Floppy disk.
2. Go to tools in either My Computer or Explorer and select Folder Options. Bring it up an select the View tab.
3. Check the check-box beside “Show hidden files and folders”. Uncheck the check-boxes beside “Hide extensions for known file types” and “Hide protected operating system files”.
4. Go to the Windows direc6tory on the drive that has Windows XP on it. It is usualy the C; drive.
5. Find the 3 files- Boot.ini, Ntldr, and Ntdetect.com
6. Copy and paste those 3 files to the formatted floppy disk.
7. Also see if you can locate 2 more files- Bootsec.dos and Ntbootdd.sys
8. You may not find the 2 files mentioned in step 7, but if you do copy and paste them on the floppy disk also.
9. Take the floppy disk out and label it “XP boot disk” or something like that.
10. Go back into the Folder Options and undo the changes you made to your view configuration in step 3- and you are done.
