xp boot disk wont work

i recently installed linux on my computer and everything was going well untill i couldnt get my gfx card drivers to install/work.. so i thaught well ill just go back to xp and i cleared my hdd (deleted the partition with linux on it) then i popped in my xp reinstall disk and it said "press any key to boot from cd" then went to "detecting your hardware configuration".. then reboots.. and thats all i can do now.. please help me with this

Go to the HDD manufacture's website and download their utillity disc. Download it to what you can use...CD or floppy.

Use that disc to reformat the drive and set it up as a new installation for a windows operating system!

"press any key to boot from cd"

I have read somewhere that when you get that message a second time, DO NOT press any key.
Leave your computer alone, and it will start installing XP.

Another option would be to download and run 'DelPart'. It will remove all partitioning from the hard drive that you select.
