XP backup error

October 3, 2006 at 13:17:24
Specs: XP Home, P4/1g
I've reinstalled xp on a new sata hd. I tried using xp backup to save the install (4.2 gb). I get an error message that says "The files for the recovery diskette could not be created. The operation was aborted."

The program asks that you insert a floppy which I did. It also asks that you choose a save location which I have tried both a 4.7gb dvd and the new drive itself.

Any help would be appreciated.

So it's NTBackup - not a great utility. Suggest you follow ham30's recommendation.

Thanks for the responses guys. jefro yours wasn't the solution but it made me look again and I realized that I tried to name the file "oct.2006.bkf". When I removed the period from "oct." it worked. So thanks!
