A few seconds after I logon to XP, it logs me off automatically and returns to the welcome screen. I can not access any of the accounts and have tried starting it up in safe mode as well as safe mode with prompt, but I still am unable to enter any of these accounts, including the administrator account. PLEASE HELP. thankss.

# If you have a UPS attached, unplug the UPS and then try restarting again. # Try Last known good configuration from XP startup menu. # This could also be caused because of a virus on the computer. # If this happened recently you can try restoring your system back to an earlier date by using some commands from the recovery console.

I keep being redirected to my desktop screen when I try to click on a hotlink or enter certain address strings from either AOL or often directly from Explorer. I have worked with both AOL and DELL to no avail. Now they are suggesting that I reinstall XP...I'm stalling hoping for a miracle.

I also am having the same problem with my laptop. There are several accounts and I can't get in with any of them, XP just logs back off after less than 1 second. I tried botting up in safe mode but it won't let me on even with the administrator account. I have done nothing different the last few days, and it worked fine this afternoon but I shut my laptop off today and went to log back on later and this problem occurred. It might very well be a virus, but how can I do a windows repair if I can't even access safe mode??? please, any suggestions would be helpfull, cuz right now I'm tearing my hair out.
