Dear Group:

I installed most of the XP updates from MS and restarted my computer.

Now the "Updater" icon stays in the system tray. Before all I had to do was click the icon and cancel.

But now the icon stays in the system tray. To shut it down I have to do it in Task Mgr.

What could be the cause?

Thanks!

wayne

How long has it been hanging around for?

There is a possibility it's downloading more updates.

Dear benn:

Prior to the MS updates two night ago (13 Aug 2003) all I had to do was click on the taskbar icon for "Auto updates" and tell it to "Cancel" and then the program would close and the icon would disapear.

Now, I do the same but the icon does NOT disapear like it did before.

Any ideas?

Thanks a bunch!

wayne
