I have some problems with AOL 7.0 also. I know when I have problems connecting I have to right click the AOL icon, choose system information, utilities, and uninstall adapter. Then when you click on AOL icon XP will reinstall the adapter.

Sometimes I even have to reboot to get it to connect.

Did you guys have AOL and then upgrade to XP or Vice Versa? I had the problem when I upgraded. An Upgrade with XP is totally not recommended.

I clean installed XP Pro on my laptop and my desktop came with XP Home already installed. Then when I upgraded to AOL 7.0 over the net I had problems with AOL not allowing me to reconnect after a disconnection.

I have read somewhere else that upgrading from the net has caused many people problems. The suggestion was to get the 7.0 cd to upgrade. I picked up the disk from Wally World(aka WalMart).

I uninstalled what I had and reinstalled with it and have had no problems for a couple of days but I am not going to hold my breath.

I've also beem having problems with XP and AOL 7, and AOL Technical Support told me to look for new XP drivers for my modem, as that was the problem. I've only just bought the machine, and the driver is a July 2001 version with a Windows XP digital signature.

I haven't looked for another more up to date one, but I think the problem is with AOL 7 not the modem, as I've had problems launching it, and have reinstalled three times in the last week.

Any ideas ??

Jim
