Ive installed XP and everytime i try using windows media player my system freezes.. ive reinstalled and formatted and everything but i still get the same error.. ive also had my harddrive checked and it has no probs.. could it be another peice of hardware??

It is possible that your soundcard could be causing the problem, list your specs and also check on the net for updated XP drivers for your soundcard.

You might try running the compatibility checker. It is an early step in the XP Setup on the install CD.
