I have an ABIT KG7 mobo, Athlon xp1600+,256MB PC2100 DDR, SB audigy platinum, and a S3 savage 4 for graphics (till the gf4 ti cards come out) ok heres my problem, I can run with the fsb @266 in windows98se fine, but if I use 266fsb in xp pro, it constantly freezes. If I set the fsb to 200mhz xp runs fine...any help would be appreciated.

Most likely your RAM. XP Pro just like its counterpart Windows 2000 is very finicky about the quality of the memory you are using. When you crank up the FSB and Windows checks the RAm thats where the problem most likely happens.

I had the same problem until I browsed through Paul's Unofficial KG7 Page . . . XP processors will be unstable on the KG7 in WinXP unless you set the CPU Slew Rate higher--change it from 3 (default) to 7 in your Chipset --> Advanced Options in the BIOS.

Thanks for the info, I went to that Paul's Unofficial KG7 page and did as suggested there. I hope it fixes my prob, cause its aggravatin to pay for 1400MHz and only be able to run 1054MHz..lol. Thanks again.
