I've installed an XP system w/my 2 other win 98 systems on my network with the XP wizard and all's well. I disconnect the XP machine (laptop) and reconnect, and the network no longer sees the xp machine!? Happened a couple times. Any suggestions? I appreciate it.

Go to Network Connections, right click your LAN connection and choose Repair. System will request a new IP from your DHCP server.

After the Laptop is disconnected it will recieve an APIPA (Automatic Private IP Address)address (169.254.X.X), because it could not recieve one via DHCP.

(Just an idea)
