Comment:

After installing WIN XP SP2, on every start or restart I receive message that Norton Antivirus 2005 does not support that function. I can still start by I have to click or X on these messages (about 4) to
close them. I uninstalled Windows Installer, a element of SP 2 and then had
a problem installing some programs and updates. Nortons online help suggest to reinstall Antivirus. Here the catch I still use dial up and when I reinstall Norton I will lose all my updates, etc. and it takes
forever to download them again. Does anyone know how to save the current Norton updates, etc and reinstall after I reinstall.

Adios

if tech support suggested you re-install then re-install to see if that would resolve your issues. I don't know if dial-up users can streamline Norton Live Updates.
You should ask tech support or call Symantec.
