I have tried installing the creative drivers for SB Live Value (approx 9 mb)however my computer freezes during the installation process?

although I don't know why in your case it doesn't work, I have the sound blaster mp3+ and the update I downloaded off of http://www.americas.creative.com/support/files/download.asp?Centric=169&OS=13 installed no problem.

Hit Alt + Tab see if there is the registration process waiting in the background. I just installed the driver too and stared at the black setup screen for 5 minutes before i checked what was going on behind it. If you can set your caps lock on and off your likley not frozen.

i had the same problem contacted creative and they sent me a disk specifically for xp www.creative.com hope this helps..
