Hey, all.
Regarding my last post about defragging my HD, THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE. I did a boot-time defragmentation. It worked...but it's STILL fragmented heavily. WTF with that? And, on top of that all, my XP installation is acting weird...
Here are a few examples of how it's acting up:
*Unusually slow performance
*Word documents shutting down unexpectedly
*A few BSODs
*Driver inconsisenties
*Keyboard changes modes--when I press D, instead of typing out D, it opens Explorer with small toolbars and is in search mode, for example
*MS AntiSpyware won't workI've checked for spyware and Windows OneCare is working just fine--it detects zero viruses. This is a pretty new installation--only 4 days old, and it's so messed up... generally it WORKS, but it's just slow, crappy, and weird.
I installed XP with nLite (additional drivers and the latest updates).
If this keeps up, I'll just scrap this and install using the original XP CD with SP2 only, not the nLite one.
Ideas? Please. THANKS!
-Andrew
