How can i make my computer running windows xp pro, act as a router on my network for internet connection. I have heard that this can be done by changing the value of "0" to "1" of "IPENABLEROUTE" in the registry. I did that but still its not working.

Any ideas?

Here's how to do it. Go into Network Connections, open the properties for the your internet connection, click the Advanced tab, and tick "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection." You can also tick or untick the other two, its your choice.

Then all you need to do is to configure the other computers. Go into the TCP/IP properties of the LAN connection, make sure "Obtain an IP address automatically" is selected. Then in the DNS server addresses section, put the 192.168.0.1 in the preferred DNS server box.

The finally, open IE, goto Tools, Internet Options, Connections tab. Click LAN settings, then check "Automatically detect settings". Then restart IE, and your done!

Hope this helps.
