I downloaded it about three or four weeks ago and attempted to load it on a new laptop I just purchased and I just could not get it to finish loading. It would stop at several places and hang. Not at the same place every time. I dont believe they have enough kinks out of it yet.

doc,
If I recall correctly, wasn't your laptop equipped stock with 32bit hardware?. It is pointless installing the OS without compatible hardware.

Something must not be right doc.
Without drivers or applications, what is there to check out with the 64 bit OS?

I dont know, This I know, after several installation trys and it hanging every time I just quit trying. And I know how to install a operating system. Unless there is some piece of hardware causing the trouble I dont have a clue.

doc, maybe a crucial 64 bit driver for your laptop's hardware does not exist yet.

doc,
Ooops! someone had an issue installing the 64bit XP version very recently and I must have thought it was you, my bad.
A lot of people had install issues as well, some were resolved by ordering the install on CD, others were fixed by BIOS update and a few gave up on the whole thing. I hope you won't succumb to the 64bit defeat.
Keep us posted.
