xcopy wont work with encrypted file

our backup script gives erros when it tries to xcopy from a crypted laptop to an uncrypted file server. /g dosn't help. I know others have had the same problem but I can't fing a workaround anywhere. any info on this mater would help out a great deal.

An encrypted file is always an encrypted file on xp/2003. The file is bound to the owners name and password. If you try to un-encrypt it with any other means you will get a useless file. That was a bug in prior versions. I don't know why you are using xcopy, why not use ntbackup?
