Hey guys, been trying to find a solution to this elsewhere on xbox forums, but no luck. Then I thought this would probably be answered on a computer tech forum...so here I am!

Anyway, I have my xbox connected to my laptop which is wireless and that is connected to a router in another room. I created a bridge with my ethernet card and wireless card on my laptop so the xbox can use my laptops wireless internet to connect. I can connect fine to Xbox Live and have great fast signal, but it only stays connected for about 10 minutes before losing connection on the xbox ONLY. The laptop still stays connected to the router/internet fine.

What can be causing this? No other computer usage or nothing else is using the router at all except for my laptop and the xbox, and its WEP encrypted so no one (I hope) is using my internet.

My setup is as follows. XBox connected to the ethernet port of my laptop via CAT6 cable. Laptop connected to WEP encrypted router via wireless connection. And another thing that sucks is the router I have is a Time Warner (my ISP) issued router, so they forbid anyone to make any changes in the router settings for security purposes and only "techs" can log in to the router and make the changes.

Anything I can try to do here so my xbox stops dropping connection to Live? Thanks in advance!

either hardwire your XBox to the router,

or
By a wireless adapter for your xbox.

Definitely not the response I was hoping for. Any other suggestions that doesnt involve me buying anything? I know this can be done, alot of people have this setup working fine.

Maybe those other people can tell you how they did it!
