Hello,
I had wx pro sp2 installed with fat 32 and I remember in safe mode, it was still possible to have access to the windows gui ( like explorer or my computer ) Now,
I installed it on an ntfs file system
( I know... it's about time, ya ) but I notice booting in safe mode won't allow to launch explorer or my computer anymore, is this the way it should be with ntfs or is it an error in my installation.
Thanksdownload my xp theme at

safe mode only loads minimal drivers for troubleshooting purposes.
you modem drivers or ethernet drivers don't load, hence, no servive to internet.
the file system won't/shouldn't make a diff

Ya I was talking about explorer, the file system. But I think I found the reason why it wouldn't let me start explorer.exe, (not sure of that) I wanted to make a defrag, faster and may be better so I decided to to for a reboot in safe mode to do so. But I also wanted it to be so "perfectly defraged" that just before rebooting in safe mode, I schedule a chkdsk /f through the run command for the next reboot.
I guest the chkdsk couldn't be loaded in safe mode and so on. I works fine now after I used the last known configuration.
Thanks.

Ya I tried also but task manager messaged me that some drivers couldn't be loaded and was opening the system restore gui insted.
Anyway, I have to say if you command a chkdsk /f or /r, don't reboot in safe mode to have it checked, it won't work
Thanks again
