wuauclt.exe in eventID crash sudden

my pc restart suddenly without any previous notification.

i do have a DSL so i keep my PC running all day online and i come home find it already restarted

i checked my eventviwer and those are the latest events:

in security
Event Type: Information
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7036
Date: 11/7/2004
Time: 12:30:16 AM
User: N/A
Computer: YOKA
Description:
The Computer Browser service entered the stopped state.

in programs:
Event Type: Information
Event Source: ESENT
Event Category: General
Event ID: 101
Date: 11/7/2004
Time: 12:35:40 AM
User: N/A
Computer: YOKA
Description:
wuauclt (3316) The database engine stopped.

i read alot around the net, but no decisive answer how to fix it.

i found it on my registery in :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ESENT\Process\wuauclt

how do i got this running XP i thought it is only for ME.
i found it on those three locations:
c:\windows\system32
c:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$
c:\WINDOWS\Prefetch
in the last location it used the name WUAUCLT.EXE-141D0725.pf

please help

win xp sp2 p4 2.8 512 ddr ram gigabyte MB

wuauclt.exe
is Microsoft AutoUpdate for Windows ME/2000/XP.

To find out what each Startup(or Process) item
does or means, and any recommendation as to if you should close the process:
