Write port error when using plotter

September 13, 2012 at 14:43:32
Specs: Windows XP sp3
I have a Dell w/XP sp3 running a Vinyl Express v.6.6 with a Lynx S-60 plotter. Been running this for several years and now when I prompt the plotter to cut, it's progress stays at 0%, and when I cancel, it says 'write port error.' I have reinstalled program, reset preferences and device man. says LPT1: is working fine - a D25 serial port - only one on computer. The plot production manager is assigned to this port. I cannot uninstall or reinst. the plotter - it is part of the program and I have never seen this plotter in any other place in my computer except only in vinyl express in cut/plot mode. Tech support will not help as this is an older program and will not help until I spend $3k to upgrade. Any other suggestions??

Install the app on a different pc/laptop. If same error its the plotter having issues. If no you know something if off with your laptop
