CPU/Ram: pentium 3 / 320MB sdram

I installed office XP yesterday, and today, it is my first time to open words. I found that when i press "enter", there is an arrow, press enter again, another arrow. I cannot click on it. It is grey in colour. how do i disable the arrow?

Hi LCH

Maybe you are referring to the symbol for paragraph marks.

Tools / Options / View tab
Nonprinting characters
Remove any checkmarks for features you
don't want in your document.

On the menu bar there is an icon with what looks like an uppercase "P". Click it and the formatting marks will disappear.

My apologies... it is a "back to front" uppercase P. On my Word it is right next to the "magnification" window.
