I have lost my margin sliders (dont know what they are called)in word on the print view screen. This is where I could change top, bottom margins with my mouse by sliding them to where I wanted them.How can I get this back?? thanks

Open the print preview. There should be a toolbar at the top with the zoom percentage on it (Like 40%. . .) and a button that looks like a picture of those margin sliders. Click that button.
If the toolbar is not there, right click where the toolbars should be, and click "Print Preview". It will bring the toolbar up.

I meant in the print view not preview screen. They are in a auto hide mode and I want them to apear when I'm on the first page like it use to. soooorry thanks again in advance

Have you looked at the View menu at the top? You should be able to click on 'ruler' there. If 'ruler' doesn't appear because you're using customised menus, go to Tools menu - Customise - Options tab, & tick the box for 'Always show full menus' or try the 'Reset usage' button.
Also look at Tools menu - Options - View tab, there's a check box near the bottom for ruler.
All the above can be found in the Word Help file if you get stuck.
