my cdrom devices wont read copied cd ,it does read normal bought cd but he wont read all of the burned ones some do some dont. i replaced the cdrom and cdr and that helped for some time but now it starts again .sometimes it says,cant read from disc and sometimes you get acces but when trying to copy the files of disc i get error message saying wrong parameter. the cdr and dvd player are brand new. in other pc with 98se on it the discs are read ok,so please could anyone help me out? is it xp or SP 1 or maybe some sort of protection? thanks in advance :-) wikkoo system K7s5a with 1800xp 1024 ddr ram gf ti4400 msi fireburner msi dvd player

This may be a conflict with cd writing device drivers. If u have Easy CD Creator installed, it wont sit happily with any other burning software and can create read probs. Also check your aspi layer with 'aspichk' (search google 4 it). If it's installed, v4.7 is a known troublemaker. Revert to v4.6
