I'd like to start off with the internet explorer problem. The IE is a version 6. I'm having problems with sites displaying pictures properly. I've installed the latest JVM and flash. Here's a picture of what I usually get on a site.
The problem with my windows media player 9. I've just upgraded from a version 8 player. Now every clips are cut off towards the end. Meaning that the file and audio still plays but the screen goes blank. This occurs with every video clip that I play, all of them used to work fine with version 8. I know for sure that this is not a codec problem.

Have you checked the following? Click on Tools, Internet Options, click on the Advanced tab, then scroll down to Multimedia and make sure Show Pictures is selected. Click APPLY and OK on the way out.

Would you happen to be using a norton firewall?. If so try to reconfigure the norton settings to accept all java scripting(it will block it sometimes) An easy way to see is to just turn off the firewall for a bit and checkout the site.If it loads up ok then you know what it is.

Yes, the norton firewall was the problem.
Is there anyway to configure it so I won't have to disable it?
