WMP does not play streaming videos

I have a Linksys router through which I use my internet. Any online videos which use WMP are not playing. I have noticed that if I remove the router and use a direct connection then the WMP plays the online videos.

This clearly indicates to me that there is something that is blocking the videos from the router itself. I have spoken to Linksys several times but no use. They dont even have a clue.

I dont know how to disable the firewall on the router or whether to open some ports which the WMP will need from the router console. I am unable to figure out what to do to fix this. Please provide help. I will be very thankful to anyone who responds with a solution.

If you go to your browser and punch in: 192.196.1.1

This will allow you to access the router control panel. If you have not done this before, then use ADMIN for user name and leave the password blank.

I can access the router control panel always but dont know how to disable settings that are blocking th eonline videos.
