WMP Distortion- Sound Forge is Fine

Comment:
When playing MP3 or wave files with Windows Media Player, I get a lot of distortion.
When I use Sound Forge 8 to play same files, it works and sounds great.
Wouldn't matter to me so much but since I use Bearshare ...it defaults to WMP.
Sound card is Creative Audigy 24 bit.
Thought at first it might be Sound card drivers but..then Sound forge would also be distorted when using Sound Forge.... ???

weiners, RIGHTCLICK one of the files and choose your preference to open the file. Put a tic in the 'always use ...' box and it will change the default. If you use more filetypes, you may need to do the same for each type. .MP3s, .wavs, etc. HTH. Ed in Texas.
