wmp and sound dont mix

hi..i have nvidia nforce audio speakers and for some weird reason they stopped working yesterday through windows media player..i mean it plays stuff normally through winamp,itunes etc but not through windows media player..although windows media player shows that its playing but no sound comes out of it.i checked the settings too..they are alrite..and windows media player was playing it nicely too but suddenly they just stopped..please help..i love windows media player..i have windows media player 10.
