Having problems playing certain video files (mpeg, avi) on media player 9. During playback, sometimes in the middle, the video will "black out" leaving only the audio playing. Needs to restart the whole program to view it but consistently keeps blacking out. Tried updating codecs, video drivers(intel) and directx (9a). What are other possible solutions?

One of the many reasons I have avoided WMP 9 cause it has issues with "some" but not "all" video formats.

What is the fix? Get rid of WMP 9 and go back to WMP 8. Not the answer you are looking for but I've yet to see a cure for WMP 9 other than switching programs.

I use WMP 8 and have not toyed with any of the others. I know a lot of people prefer WinAmp but I never did care for it myself but it is supposed to work well.
