I have been unable to send email via outlook express and sometimes have been unable to open mail. Have had problems with IE as well and some other unimportant programs. Keep getting the same error messages "WMI has encountered a problem and needed to close." Other times get "DrWatson Postmortem Debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Problem appears to be associated with wmiprvse.exe. Common error messages from the Event Viewer are provided below. Have restored system to prior times w/o fixing problem. Could someone advise me how or direct me to a site to fix this problem. Thanks in advance

There is a possibility that your computer may be infected with the W32/Sonebot-B worm. Look under the Description tab at the link below and see it it's applicable to your problem (i.e. registry keys). If you do any registry editing make sure that you back up the registry prior to editing.

Unless you really, really like IE and Outlook Express, I recommend using Mozilla or Firefox browers and Thunderbird E-mail. They are much more secure and have features not available in IE and OE.
