I actually have 2 questions regarding this subject, which I have been trying to solve on my own for quite some time with no luck. Anyways, help on the issue would be greatly apprichiated:
1) I have a linksys wireless USB adapter to connect to my parents computer upstairs. In order to make it work (ie connect me) I must have the software installed which includes the driver(which by the way says it has not passed windows logo testing, even though it says it the WinXP driver version, so I clicked cancel, and it was already installed I guess cause it didnt actually cancel the installations). Problem is, if I use the Linksys Wireless network monitor I never get connected, thus I have to right click the icon every time I start my computer and click "Use Windows XP wireless configuration" So does anyone know of a way that I can just have winXP config as the default without uninstalling the adapter software?
(this isnt a major problem, but it would be nice to solve)2)I dont have a printer, my brother (whos computer is attached to the router and all that) however does. I have been trying to set it up as a network printer but whenever I do this it first ask me for the username and password to connect to his computer. I have numerouse times used his windows login username and password and it never works. So my question is, when it asked for the username and password, exactly which username and password is it asking for?
btw - Thanks in advance to anyone who took the time to read this

Do not try to set the printer up as a network system...it won't work. you must create a new LOCAL printer port with the printer's ip address.
goto ADD A PRINTER, add local printer, do not opt for automatic search, THEN choose NETWORK PRINTER in the nexr window, XP will look for it based on its ip address.
