I brought my laptop to Ottawa recently and tried to connect to wireless networks there, but was unsuccessful. Anyhow, when I returned home, I found that my computer was not able to access our home wireless system anymore. In fact, when I asked it to 'view available networks', it came up with the list of networks from Ottawa, which of course is a false list. Our normal network would not come up--I know the wireless system is working because I am using it now on a different computer. Normally my laptop connects to my home internet in a matter of seconds. What's wrong? Help please! Someone?

Thanks for the tip. I tried these steps, but I still came up with the message "No available networks". It says that my Wireless WLAN Mini Card is working properly, but I am wondering if perhaps the driver is corrupted?

I have read somewhere that this may fix some problems ---
In Network Connections folder,
right click the wireless Icon, then click Disable.
Then wait awhile, then do it again, but then click "Enable".

There is a simple way to remove the past Ottawa networks, but I can't remember. May be to single click one of the network names, then click a remove button.

My last Reply should work. XP would then tell you of any available networks.

ALSO, when in Network Connections folder,
right click the wireless Icon, then click "Properties".
Make sure that the box is checked marked for
Show icon in Notification Area when connected
Showing that Icon makes for an easier way to access the dialog boxes for checking, or correcting, connectivity.
