My laptop can't connect to a wireless network for some reason I can't find. The hardwired LAN card works fine. The WLAN network is also not the problem, as other laptops can connect to it. When I tried to connect, I got an error message directing me to this article:
I finally used it and followed the instructions, but now there are no error messages, it simply cannot detect any wireess networks. I'm almost certain that the hardware is not the problem. Any thing else that could be going wrong?

navigate ; control panel > admin tools > services shortcut and scroll all the way down and see if the wireless configuration service got set properly. you can double click it and set it to automatic and start it and verify that it is running.
There are some tweaks that like to keep this off.
