Wireless problem

I am really frustrated with an issue with the wireless router. I have a Sony laptop with a built in wireless card and another IBM laptop that has a PCIMA card (Linksys). I am using the windows wireless setting to connect to the router. Both computers can get connected to the router; however only the Sony can go to the internet. The IBM does not go to the internet. I can ping each other from the Sony to the IBM and the other way. Both laptops are getting DHCP manually. When I take both laptops to my friend’s house they both connect right away to the router and to the internet. What other suggestions can you give me? Thank you for any advice.

"Both laptops are getting DHCP manually"
That doesn't make sense.
I fixed this exact same problem with an IBM laptop by unplugging everything and setting it all back up again.

You should have each client's TCP/IP properties set to "Obtain IP Automatically".
Do you have a wired client you can use to log into the router's Admin GUI? Check the wireless settings in the router. What if any security has been enabled on the router? Do you have any filters or limits on router's DHCP? How wide a range of IPs are available? How long are IP leases set for?
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
