I have a dsl modem connected to a wireless router. I can surf the interent fine for the most part but I notice that if I put my computer into standby or hibernation or sometimes if I just dont use my computer for a long time the internet wont work. It shows I am connected to the network and it shows that I have an ip address but I still get no internet. I have tried going into the network properties and using the repair button but that doesnt work either. what is really weird is that 2 laptops are using the same wirless network and one computer will get the internet and the other one won't. If I restart either computer the internet always works. I have tried logging off and logging back on and that doesnt fix the internet. does anyone know why the interent would cut out on only one computer and then only work after the computer is restarted.
I was originally using an airport express but I am now using a d-link wirless router. both had the same problem. I have never had this problem before and I have used the same routers on t1 lines and cable lines. on dsl is there a specific way to set up the routers?

If this is a regular PC and not a laptop you are refering to .. disable standby and/or hibernate. There is no use for these functions on a regular desktop.

best of luck Frank :
