Hello. I just bought a wireless card (linksys wireless- g pci adapter with speedbooster) and installed the driver and all the right way. Internet still not working. It finds the router but will not connect to it. When I do cmd ipconfig all it says is "Windows IP Configuation" nothing else. I did the ping thing where it responds back and 4 packets are sent and 4 are recieved but when I did the ping with the router IP nothing is found. HELP

What does it say when it doesn't connect to the router? Should be something!

You’ve installed the driver but have you created a connection?

1. If you’re using Windows (Wireless Zero Configuration) to connect, right-click the wireless network icon in the system tray and then click View Available Wireless Networks. Click or type the network name you want to connect to and click Connect (bottom right). Now type your WEP/WPA key and click Connect. After you're connected, you can close the Wireless Network Connection window.

2. If you’re using the adapter’s software to connect, right-click the wireless network adapter’s icon in the system tray, open it and follow the prompts to connect. The software varies from manufacturer to manufacturer but an SSID and security key must be typed in just the once. Subsequent connections will be automatic.

Make sure the card is installed properly. Check your Device Manager. In the past when I've received that error, it means the correct drivers aren't installed. Did you install them before installing the card physically?
