Hi there,
I have recently setup a wireless network around my house, and I have service pack 2 on all but one computer that uses it. The ones with service pack 2 pop-up every 5-10mins or so and tell me that im connected to my wireless network. Its really annoying. The connection hasn't dropped out or anything, it just keeps 'reminding' me that im connected. The one with SP1 pops up every 30 seconds and tells me that im connected. I'm sure this isn't normal, is there a setting that can turn this off???

If you don't mind not seeing the little flashing computers in the Task Bar you might try going into Network Connections. Select the network adaptor that is your for your wireless network, right click on it and select Properties. In the General tab uncheck the 2 boxes at the bottom: "Show icon in notification area when connected" and "Notify me when this conncection has limited or no connectivity". It may be that you only have to uncheck the latter.
Let us know. Cheers."Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less travelled by, And that has made all the difference." Frost

Try this. Don't know if it will help. In Windows Explorer go to Tools, Folder Options, View. Near the bottom is a box having to do with showing pop-up descriptions. If it's checked, uncheck it and see what happens. There may also be something like this in Internet Options, Advanced. Can't remember.

I get this a lot also. It did not occur in SP1. It seems that every time there is some kind of change in your wireless connection, the balloon pops up. If you are popping up to often then it probably is your wireless strength often changing because of some type of interference...ie: the electric lines running through the walls in your house. Try moving the router to a different location.
Of course, if you get too sick of the pop ups, they can be disabled.
