I have been having alot of networking problems with winXP. Recently, I have two friends living in the same area with Orinoco wireless network connected to the Internet provided by the apartment.

They both got PC running winXP. I helped my first friend to get the XP driver and everything works perfectly ok. However, my other friend, having the same driver, got safely remove hardware icon everytime the Orinoco is plugged in. This bothers me alot since they're both running winXP and having the same driver. Could this be a problem with hardwares? I cant think of anything else. Please help.

"safely remove hardware icon"...sounds like one of the settings in a properties window. I forget how you get there...

Have you or your friend tried to install the device prior to your attempt? That might be a problem.
