Wireless Network not found

Specs: Windows XP, 2Gz 1Gb
Hi, I have broadband to my desktop pc, i used Dlink ADSL modem for that , recently i have purchace laptop with WiFi , for sharing network connection i put Dlink Dir-300 wireless router all installing found ok. i can browse internet on my Desktop, but i can not able to access internet on Laptop, In Network connection on laptop shows that " wireless network connection" not connected,No computer detect when choose wireless network (as i named my network) but in network list nothing found.pl. help

Sounds obvious, but worth checking - is the wireless adapter switched on on the laptop - there's often a discreet switch or a key combination to do so, it's amazing how often it's overlooked.

I have checked wireless adapter switched " ON ", is there any other setting require in laptop ?? i kept "obtain Automatic IP enable" and "obtain Automatic DNA enable "on laptop.

If you go into network connections does it say if the wireless is disabled or enabled. Also is anyone else like your friends able to see your wireless connection if not then i would check the settings on your router because you might have set it to be hidden or you disabled it on the router itself.

Wireless Configuration for Wi-Fi.

WINDOWS

* Click Start

* Click Control Panel

* Select Network and Internet Connections

* The Network and Internet Connections window will appear:
Select the Network Connections icon

* The Network Connections window will appear:
Double click on Local Area Connection

* The Local Area Connection window will appear:
Select the General tab and click, or highlight Internet Protocol and press Properties
