Comment: I'm trying to fix this PC: PC used to connect wirelessly thru a D-Link DWL-132 USB Adapter to the downstairs D-Link Router. For some reason, its stopped working. This what i have found. The adapter shows up and working in device manager. But is no wireless connection in network connections, and cannot open the D-Link Wireless Utitly. Have uninstalled, tried another working usb adapter, with its own software. Have check windows zero wireless config service, its running. Done a sfc /scannow scan. System Restore. But still no wireless connect. Any suggestions what to try next ?

Reply: (edit)Your wireless router may have been reset so that it is disbled. enter the router and check to make sure that it is sending the wireless signal You might also check to see if your security settings are configured correctly....firewalled and closed out the utility thinking it was harmful Operating Costs = the cost of operating a business Profits = revenues over and above the operating costs. Taxes = operating costs mandated by gov. TaxPayer = what you are called by the gov.

Reply: (edit)router has nothing to do with it, other 2 pcs in home connect wirelessly to it and it shows the SSID. It's a problem with windows, i cannot see the wireless network connection. Even with the hardware installed correctly.

Reply: (edit)If the wireless utility isn't opening then disable it and use windows configuration and manually enter the SSID. Is your router using security like MAC address filtering, etc.? If it is, then make sure your PCs Mac address is entered in the routers admin site. The router may be set up to Hide the SSID. Manually entering it should work once security issues, if any,are resolved.

Reply: (edit)open your network connections, you'll see 'Local Area Network' for wired connections. Now if you have wireless you'll see 'Wireless Network Connection' and that i dont have. So next step is to see if adapter is installed properly. Open Device Manager, expand Network Adapters. Now in there it shows my wireless adapter, and i check properties on it, says Device is working. But no wireless network connection, so its useless atm.
