i have a linksys router and i have wpa security set on it, and i have also added all of my devices macaddress on the wireless mac filter on the router (permit only), and just for fun i decided to remove my laptop macaddress from my macaddress list filter, and i entered my wpa key just to see if i can access my internet, and i was able to.....i thought once i delete a macaddress from my wireless router, i would not be able to access the internet?

MAC address filter when on, will only allow those specific devices access. When off, as long as you have the key, you have access.

Do you have the option selected to only allow the computers on the list access, or to block the computers on the list from having access ? I do the same thing with my Linksys router, where I only allow the computers on the list access. When I take a compuetr off of the list, it is no longer possible for that computer to access the router.

yeah i checked the button to allow these mac addresses to access router.....and when i took my laptop macaddress off the list, i was still able to get online.....the only thing is that once i put in the WPA Key on the laptop that i took off the network, from mac address list i have access.....weird

What model linksys router do you have?
Mac address filtering is usually highly effective and it seems very unusual if you are using this added security that you can still access the internet via your router (without your mac address listed), even after entering your encryption key.

i have a linksys
WRT54GS
Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBoosterand also i have selected the option to only premit these mac addresses on the network....but when i took my laptop macaddress off i was still able to get online and access the internet....
