I currently have a desktop and laptop computer connected on a wired router. My daughter is getting another laptop, which is wireless. How do I connect the third computer.

The server has 2 NIC's, one onto the LAN and one to a broadband router which connects to an ADSL modem.

Check the new laptop. A lot of them come with both wireless NIC and wired NIC. If this is the case just use the wired NIC into your existing router and disable the wireless until you need it.
