Wireless LAN Card Code 39 :'(

Specs: Windows XP
Hey guys, this is my first post here so I hope this is in the right place.

Basically, I just bought an ADDON Wireless LAN Card. When I connect it, XP picks it up as "Found New Hardware". But whether I install the drivers using the CD or using Add Hardware, it doesn't work! I get the "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing (Code 39)". These are definitely the right drivers, I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times.

When I look in the Device Manager, there is a yellow exclamation point (!) next to the ADDON card. I have tried updating the driver from here but it says that it can't find anything better than what is already installed.

I have gone into regedit and looked in the 4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-0800213E10383 folder, but couldnt find the UpperFilters or LowerFilters to delete as some places have suggested.

Finally, I even reinstalled Windows... nothing. Does this mean the card itself is to blame?
