Hi,

I want to buy a logitech wireless keyboard & mouse combo for my computer, but I was wondering (I did some research and couldn't find the answer anywhere), does my computer require some sort of special hardware to be able to use a wireless keyboard and mouse?

If so, does it come supplied or do I have to ask and buy it seperately.

Or is it as easy as installing a driver and typing a letter straight away?

Thanks very much.

All you have to do is hook it up and install the software provided with it. It is as simple as that. I am sure you have found what you want but try Wal-Mart they have for example a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard/Optical Mouses Combo for $66. Whereas the same one at another store would be about $80. Also try www.pricegrabber.com or www.epinions.com for the best price.

Well see that's what I was referring to, when you said "all you have to do is hook it up", hook what up? It's wireless?

Sorry if it's a stupid question.

You need to have a spare USB port available and an AC connection close by for the power supply. Look at the Logitech combo with the rechargable mouse. You will thank yourself in the end.

Okay thanks, so I just have to plug a usb device into one of my spare usb ports and install the software. As for your comment about the ac adaptor, well so long as I use rechargable batters I think it should be okay.

The AC adapter is necessary even if the devices take throwaway batteries. The RF transmitter/receiver requires AC power. The duo I mentioned only has a rechargable battery pack in the Mouse. The mouse stores on end in a cradle that keeps the batteries charged. You still need to periodically replace the Keyboard batteries. The Mouse is what eats batteries though. Laser, you know.
