I have a Compaq Presario laptop with wireless internet connection. For some reason, it keeps going off line though. That is, I click on IE and my home page doesn't load, nor do any other pages I try to go to. I have to double-click on the "Wireless Internet Connections" icon on the system tray, click "View Internet Connection" and click disconnect with my "wireless" connection highlighted. Then I click connect and it comes back on line. I verify this by trying IE again, and it works. Why does it keep going off line though? How can I fix this?

Go in to the wireless connection and uncheck us windows settings so that you can use the software that came with your wireless card. what card do u have? are u using a router, if so, go to the routers config page and set the time before disconnect higher, also try a static ip if you are using DHCP

Look also at event viewer, and your routers logs. Might have to use performance monitor. It might be that your login to your isp is set to log off too soon. ?

This makes sense as I've just discovered that it happens everytime I leave for a while and my computer goes into power save. When I come back, I have no access to the internet. How would I set it to not log off at all? PS - I tried the things you suggested, Tony, but unfortunately it didn't work.
