Is there a way to have your wireless internet already connected before you boot up?
Typically, when I boot up, applications like weatherbug and aol instant messenger take a minute or so to come online, because when I first start windows, down in my system tray my wireless internet connection has to go through its deal for about 15 seconds to acquire a network address and connect up.
Is there a way to have this already connected, or a way to perhaps delay the automatic opening of weatherbug/aim type applications so that there will be an internet connection when these programs startup so that they will automatically start up when I start windows?
I never had this "problem" when I was hooked up to my router via ethernet cable.
Any ideas/solution/programs? Thanks.

go to start|run|type msconfig and hit enter, on the startup tab just uncheck the programs that u dont want to auto start

As Wireless is generally slower then cable it takes longer to acquire an IP Address from either a server or router, i experience the same problem. There is nothing that can be done to resolve this it is just the nature of wireless, perhaps upgrading to a faster wireless card could resolve the issue - mind you i am running 108mbps wireless and it still takes a few seconds to connect and obtain a address.
