Hi all,
My laptop has 3 usb ports, now I have a wireless dongle I use for its obvious purpous lol. but this dongle will only work in only 1 particular usb port. If I try to connect it to any other port, it connects but I have no service, even though it is connected, and an excellent signal.
The only reason I wish to change the usb port is because this dongle makes the second port (of the 2 next to eachother) unreachable, so i would prefer it in the single usb port.
Anyone know what is causing this, or how to fix it?
many thanks for looking.
Oh, any other usb device I have works perfectly in any usb port, it is inly this wireless dongle that is having this problem.
Many thanks.

Scratch the working port. it seems it will only connect for 10 seconds before having no connectivity.
I'm "borrowing" next doors net to resolve my issue lol.
(I did get permission)

Try doing an install for the device with it in the port you want it in.

nope it didn't work. i'm having to use next doors net to connect again. i'm guessing the problem isnt my laptop seeing as I am connected no problem to "a" connection. so i reckon maybe the router is at fault.

It could be that your router and the wireless dongle are not on the correct channel or that your router has to be configured to all for that device. But even being USB connected the drivers still have to be installed correctly on the laptop.

I would install the drivers and then open the router and do a search for the correct wireless device and have your router wireless wizard do the settings.
