cannot download version 3 for iphone through itunes. want to wipe computer and reinstall from disk " operating system cd xp home sp1a." also have application recovery cd anddriver recovery cd.won't need this computer for anything but itoons and my tomtom. any advice on how? how do you boot from disk to install? thanks Ray

You should have a recovery partition on your hard drive that can be accessed by using the correct keystroke/s at start up. Watch the screens at start up to learn what keystrokes or check your manual.

Since you don't know the answer to that question, I very strongly suggest you get some knowledgeable 'start-to-finish' help for the project you have in mind.
But, the "version 3 for iphone" just might have another solution, other than a full OS re-install, which very well may not resolve the problem anyway. It might be wise to re-think your strategy...
